π± Part 1: Pre-Rental Setup for New Tesla Drivers
Complete these steps BEFORE picking up your Tesla Model X rental
Step 1: Download the Tesla Mobile App
Download the official Tesla app to your smartphone. This app is essential for accessing and controlling your rental vehicle.
Step 2: Create Your Tesla Account
Open the Tesla app and create your account using the same email address you provided to CyberSandRentals.
- Tap "Create Account" in the Tesla app
- Use the EXACT email address from your rental reservation
- Create a strong password (8+ characters, mix of letters/numbers/symbols)
- Verify your email address when prompted
- Complete your profile with your name and phone number
β οΈ Important: The email address on your Tesla account MUST match the email address on your CyberSandRentals reservation exactly, or you won't be able to access the vehicle.
Step 3: Enable Phone Key
Set up Phone Key to use your smartphone as your car key.
- In the Tesla app, go to "Security & Drivers"
- Tap "Phone Key" and follow setup instructions
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone (keep it on during your rental)
- Allow location permissions for the Tesla app
- Test that Phone Key is working (you'll see a green checkmark)
